Over Thanksgiving weekend, John Thomas finally got his first official haircut. By official, I mean that someone with a license, shears, and a cash register actually cut his hair. I think the biggest obstacle was getting him to wear the cape. All the super hero talk in the world, wouldn't convince this boy to wear a cape. Thankfully Poppy was there getting his haircut too, so it helped to alleviate all his angst. Or most of it anyway :).
I was sooo excited that this year we'd have Thanksgiving as a family. Wouldn't you know that John Thomas came down with a 24 hour stomach bug at 2:30 Thanksgiving morning. Needless to say, he and I spent a very quiet and exhausting Thanksgiving together trying to recover. I HATE when he is so sick, but I love how sweet and snuggly he is when he is so pitiful.
I also used the holiday weekend to get the Christmas decorations out. I think this year's tree might be my most memorable ever! It's the first tree that I've ever seen that has a waistline :). I guess it's kinda quirky just like me.
In searching for some lost decorations, I ended up cleaning out two closets. Found some stuff I forgot I had, and found even more stuff I need to get rid of.
John Thomas liked the bandanna unearthed. Do you think he could pull off Axel Rose for Halloween next year?We also added a singing and dancing monkey to this year's decorum. At first everyone was unsure, including Chester.
But eventually we were all "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree"!
When everyone was fully recovered from the bug, we headed to Gramma and Poppy's for some leftovers. I think that Thanksgiving leftovers might be better anyway! I am so glad that these two will have more time together! The many silly faces of John Thomas. 1. Sweet and cute
2. Sweet and pitiful
3. Sweet and super cheesy :D
John Thomas is only five months away from his third birthday. I'm not sure what age is appropriate for assigning chores, but he loves to be helpful. He wants to take the trash to the curb (with my help) and bring it back to the house. He wants to feed Chester every night, but usually tries to sneak a kibble or two for himself--so we still have to work on that one. This weekend, I went to the second annual Sarah C. Photography Pintrest Party. We made two very cute Christmas decorations, ate some super delicious Pintrest-inspired recipes and got some oh-so-fun and crafty girl time in!
